The Ford F-150 Raptor is already a formidable off-road vehicle, but Shelby American has taken it even further with its latest Baja Raptor series. Building on its legacy of modifying the Raptor since 2013, Shelby now offers two performance packages: one powered by the twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6, and the other with a supercharged V8. Shelby’s modifications focus heavily on performance, offering enthusiasts a choice between a 550-horsepower V6 or a monstrous 900-horsepower supercharged V8 version. The V6-powered Baja Raptor, based on the standard F-150 Raptor, benefits from a high-performance intake system, upgraded intercooler, and a heat shield. The Raptor R with the supercharged V8, meanwhile, receives a 3.8-liter Whipple supercharger and Shelby-specific Borla exhaust, maximizing its output on pump gas.

These power upgrades are paired with an equally aggressive focus on off-road capabilities. Shelby’s Baja Raptor comes equipped with a suspension lift kit, 18-inch forged wheels, and 37-inch mud-terrain tires, enhancing the vehicle’s ability to handle tough terrains. BDS suspension components and FOX Live Valve system shocks further optimize performance in off-road conditions. Shelby has also upgraded the steel bumpers, adding durability while improving the truck's rugged aesthetic.

Shelby has also given the Baja Raptor an aggressive exterior makeover, from the custom steel chase rack with integrated LED light bar to the revised hood, grille, and bumpers. These upgrades are not just for show—new functional vents help keep the engine cool, and the truck's wide-body look reflects its enhanced performance. Additional touches like billet racing pedals and black-and-red leather-trimmed seats with custom embroidery ensure that the interior feels just as special.

Legacy and Heritage in a Limited Edition Package

Shelby’s 2024 Baja Raptor celebrates both innovation and heritage. According to Gary Patterson, president of Shelby American, these new models pay homage to founder Carroll Shelby’s vision of high-performance, off-road machines. “Carroll was personally involved in the direction of that V8-powered muscle truck,” Patterson said, reflecting on Shelby’s early contributions to the Raptor lineup.

Limited Availability and Warranty

The 2024 Baja Raptors will be available in limited quantities through select Shelby dealers, with prices starting at $61,995 for the V6 version and $64,995 for the supercharged Raptor R. Each package comes with a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty, offering peace of mind to those looking to push their trucks to the limit. However, Shelby advises potential buyers to verify availability, as certain models may not be compliant in all states.
