Swamp Thing

Many of us grew up idolizing monster trucks and the folks that drive them, a sport that exploded in popularity thanks to the iconic Bigfoot. Today, monster trucks are everywhere, constructed from various makes and models, all designed to crush cars and entertain massive crowds. That includes this Ford F-350 Super Duty dubbed Swamp Thing, which Barcroft Cars recently caught up with at the UK Monster Truck Nationals.

Blazing Fast

The owner of Swamp Thing, Tony, also grew up obsessed with monster trucks and dreamed of owning/driving one before importing this particular truck into the UK. He did change the name and beef up the drivetrain, however, making it his own wild rig that can apparently do 0-60 in just four seconds - blazing fast for such a massive machine.

Not OEM

Tony has spent a whopping 250,000 pounds fixing up his Super Duty monster truck, replacing broken parts, and upgrading virtually everything. As one might imagine, there isn't anything here that's OEM after all of that work was completed - even the body, which is made from fiberglass.

Meth Injected

Under the hood, this Super Duty monster truck is packing an engine that displaces just shy of 10 liters and cranks out around 2,000 horsepower, which is enough to turn those giant tires with no problem. Running on methanol, the massive rig eats up fuel at a rapid rate, however.

Difficult to Drive

Interestingly, Tony notes that you can't really see much when you're behind the wheel of a monster truck like this, which is a bit scary. However, he's clearly used to driving it by now, as we can see in the video because Tony has no problem ripping off some pretty crazy jumps.

High Jump

The highest jump Tony has achieved in Swamp Thing thus far is 42 feet, which is undoubtedly impressive. In fact, he went so high that he missed the landing ramp, which shook him up a tad, much to the delight of the crowd. However, he has suffered a few injuries behind the wheel of this wild machine, too.

Living the Dream

Regardless, you can clearly tell that Tony is extremely passionate about his Super Duty monster truck, but who wouldn't be? After all, not many of us get to live out our childhood dreams in adulthood, but in this case, it seems to be going quite well for this Brit.
