1950 Ford F1 Is One Classy Old School Cruiser
Daily Slideshow: F1 pickups don't get any better than this nut and bolt restored beauty.
1. Can't Beat Original
Though they also make cool customs, Ford pickups from the '50s are hard to beat in stock form. There's just something undeniably charming about these curvaceous rides that can't be topped by shaving, cutting, and chopping them. So we were happy to see that this 1950 Ford F1, up for grabs at Just Toys Classic Cars, received one of the nicer original restorations we've ever seen.
2. Starting with a Good One
According to the seller, this beauty underwent a "complete nut and bolt restoration," and that hard work sure shows. Interestingly, the pickup only had 50k miles on it at the time, so it couldn't have been too rough to begin with.

3. Better Than New?
Thankfully, that restoration didn't stray too far off this truck's original path. The fresh Vermillion Red paint is the correct color, and those steel panels look as good as new. Heck, maybe even better than new.

4. Worth the Investment
Clearly, somebody spent a fortune getting this old truck back up to speed. But we'd say it was worth every penny, even if they never recoup that investment. The rest of the exterior of this beautiful ride looks dead stock, save for a cool set of wooden stakes flanking the bedsides.

5. Still Desirable
One could argue that Ford got things dead right when it gave birth to the F-Series. And few, if any trucks look as good as these early examples. There was just something dead on about the styling that makes them highly sought after, even today.

6. Clean Undersides
The seller didn't provide any pictures of the undercarriage or engine bay, but we're guessing they're every bit as clean as the exterior. But that's what you'd expect from a high-dollar resto job like this one.

7. Three on the Floor
We do know that power comes from the original 239 cubic-inch Flathead V8, a revolutionary engine for its time. The original 3-speed manual transmission handles the gears behind it. And even better, this one's got the shifter on the floor, not the steering column.

8. Gets the Job Done
That dedication to excellence continues inside, where you'll find a beautiful and correct interior. Nothing fancy, of course, just like any early pickup. But everything you need to get the job done is here, including a flat bench seat and giant steering wheel.

9. No Frivolous Options
As far as amenities go, at least you've got an AM radio to listen to. And a heater, in case you get a little frigid on those cool winter mornings. You can forget about frivolous things like air conditioning, however.

10. Coolest Truck on the Road
Top it off with a gorgeous wood bed, and you've got the perfect classic pickup to cruise around in. Sure, it won't ride like the newfangled luxury trucks. Nor will you get up to highway speed very quickly. But you can bet you'll be driving the coolest thing on the road, even if it is 68 years old!
