Speedometer not working in cooler weather

Back again with a speedometer problem. In the cooler weather it doesn't work for about 20 miles then starts working out of nowhere. I chased a similar problem with my turn signals for 3 years and finally found a bad soldier in a splice in the wiring loom above the throttle pedal. I've replaced the sensor in the diff and didn't see any problem with the wires back there. Has anyone had this problem or know of an area I can check the wires for a problem.
Thanks for any help.

Does the odometer work during this time? Does the transmission shift properly? Is there a code P0500 present?

If there is no VSS code, the transmission shifts properly, and the odometer functions even when the speedometer doesn't, it's not an issue with the vehicle speed sensor or ABS module.

The odometer does not work when the speedometer is not working. No code and shifts fine. Thanks for the reply.

Time to look for some vehicle speed data...or try a known-good cluster.

I need to pull the cluster out of it anyway to replace a couple bulbs maybe I'll see a problem. Thanks.
