F250 5.4 2v supercharger

So I have seen some videos about a supercharger on the super duty. Does someone make a kit or does it all have to be "home made"? Also would the f150 lightning supercharger be a direct bolt-on since it's a 5.4 2v? Any input would be appreciated.

Justin,
From my research years ago on this subject when I had a 5.4 in my 2003 F250, the stock Lightning supercharger is too tall to fit under the firewall of the Super Duties, so extensive modifications would have to be made. I think that most guys that end up supercharging their Super Duty use a centrifugal supercharger. I'm not sure if there are any full kits available or if you have to piece something together.

I kind of wondered if it would even fit under the hood. What I want is a little more power out of this truck. Would a tuner give it a little more and if so what's a good brand to go with?

Well, there are kits out there but you'd be spending $3.5K for a cheap one and up to around $8K for a good one. I looked at your profile and I see you list a truck as 1996 F250, is this the truck you're talking about? I didn't know Ford had the 5.4 back in 1996, I thought they were still using the 5.0 and 5.8 Liters....Neither here nor there, for the money spent on a super charger kit, you could have the engine rebuilt bored over with a cam, Springs, valves Ect, Ect...My son just had his old Dodge 318 redone, buying all the parts he wanted in it, sent it out to the rebuild shop...Total cost came back at just under $4K, he's happy with it...He hasn't had it dyno'd but by all the numbers of what he bought and had done, he said he should be pushing around 375 to 400hp...All I know is it'll throw you back in the seat real good when ya get on it...LOL

This is her

ready to bolt up accesories
this is an allens engineering eaton m90 sc kit for my 5.4 2v. Fits snuggly but it fits non the less. Stock at 6lb but i turned it at 12lb for about 5000miles before i decided to pull it down to do the bottom end strengthening. Had some issues with tuning but man it pulled and the blower whine was awesome. Im 10000miles in now after build up with a 6lb pulley and about tto go back for a custom tune at 12lb. Its intercooled and has a seperate blower cooler as well. 🤙

Sweet truck you've got there. I'll look into that kit. Was there much of a change in fuel mileage?

The kit was purchased from a wrecked truck a few years back in crested butte and i got it sent to me in Australia. i found the installation manual for it online then refurbed bits as i installed it. The kit came with 2.5inch pulley so turned 6psi. It didnt require any fuel system upgrades etc. It was pretty much bolt in with a bit of light fabrication and relocating alternator etc. When we turned it at 12psi i went to 39lb injectors larger fuelpump and 4bar reg. As well as 90mm maf and added an external iat sensor as 90mm maf didnt have it. Also genie headers and 4inch exhaust. Because of the extensive mods i gave it to a local ford tuner to run it on his dyno but he had issues with a driveable tune at low rpm. We got 296kilowatts at the rear wheels through big rubber which i was pretty happy with. I guess when its left at 6lb my mileage was actually a bit better. 12lbs and bigger injectors hahahaha not so good lol. But it was a hell of a lot of fun and man the blower whine was awesome. I pulked it down for a full bottom end and heads build and have just gone thru 10000miles at 6lb with a safe tune. Its booked in at another dyno guru in august to really dial it in at 12lb again.

Allens engineering i believe closed up shop mid 2000s ? Its az shame because this is a great little bolt on sc kit for the 4.6 and 5.4 2v

How is that Allen working out for you? I just bought a bare blower/intake for mine and will need to source the rest of the kit or cob parts together. I've got a stock setup essentially so I'll only be running 6#. Hoping to have a little more torque when towing is all. Any advice for that setup?
