Ford Turbo Kit 4C4Z-9V424-AA 60.64
I just took my turbo off last week and used this kit from Ed the parts guy, it was not that hard at all. My turbo was not as bad inside as I thought it may be with 63,000 miles on it. Also replace the FICM with one from Swamps, I went with the higher voltage one. Just took a 1200 mile transport towing about 10,000 lbs. Seemed to have just a touch more power with about the same 12.5 MPG round trip.

You got me worried with this commet so I called and talked with Jonathon at swamps just 5 minutes ago. He says there is no truth to this. And they have never had any problems with people towing with this upgrade to 58v.

Joe,

How important is it to have the oil supply and drain tubes on hand when servicing (cleaning) the turbo? I have never attempted anything like this but want to make certain I have all the bases covered before I start.

Thanks

All you need is a turbo gasket kit. You do not HAVE to replace the supply and drain lines.

Well, if you are going to do the rebuild as described by BenchWrench in the tech folder, then you need a kit from gpopshop for $125. It is a Garrett kit not sold by Ford. The Ford kit is necessary too - it has the replacement gaskets, new turbo bolts, but nothing for the internals of the turbo.
