Can you do a burnout?

I was trying to do a burnout in my 78 F150 4x4, it has a 351m with a holley 4bbl, performer 400 intake, hedman headers, straight up timing chain, and it still wont do a burnout. What am i doing wrong? I Floored both the brakes and the gas and the truck will overpower the brakes and just move forward real slow....is it the 32" Mud rovers and 3.50 gears or what? Thanks guys!

my 73 with a 390 would liquify my old 33"s i could roll them over going down the road at 30mph. now with the 35 nitto mud grapplers forget about it. they are super heavy, and have grip like no other. too much grip for burnouts with my gears.

my 300 straight six with c4 and way too tall gears, WITH limited slip, would still do a hell of a burnout, leavin 2 black strips up the road.

Get the rear tires wet, you should be able to hold it in place with the front brakes. Helps if you nuetral bomb it too, but thats just being hard on it.

BTW my 78 with a piece of **** 351m will not do a burnout, does the same as yours. But I just attributed it to the fact that it has nice 33's on it, and is a giant piece of **** in the power dept.

I have a 78 ford f150 4x4 with a 351m and a holley 2 barrel on it and I can roast the tires really good, did you tune your carb with a vacuum gauge to achieve the best vacuum?

all stock 351m, down to the timing chain. I've got 33's and it'll do a first gear burnout, but I've got a granny gear 6.6 to 1 a manual trans...much more difficult to roast the tires with 150 hp an an auto with big tires.

you could be pushing the brake down too far? I've seen plenty of people do that...try slowly releasing the brake to see if it ever brakes traction, then apply the brake back down to hold it in place.

Thanks Rubenk! Ill try that, from a dead stop if i punch it in first or reverse itll peel out, but when i try to do a burnout i cant get it too, that was a complete WTF moment for me and an embarassment in front of my friends.
