Suspension lift questions
Ok everyone I am looking for some advice on a suspension lift. I have an 07 F150 5.4 liter 3V 4x4 XLT. I know if I put a leveling kit on my truck I can fit 35's. I am looking at maybe going to 37's. So here are a couple questions. 1 If I go to 37's what kind of suspension lift do I need, how big? 2 If I add a leveling kit can a suspension kit and leveling kit go together. 3 What manufacture would you recommend for a suspension lift? I already know on the leveling kit I was going to go with Ready Lift. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If the ready lift leveling kit go's in the spring not stacked I dont see it being an issue running it with a lift, however heres another option for ya. I'm running a 6" procomp kit with 2" liftstruts. The kits that go in the spring stiffin the front suspension and made them ride rough mine still rides smooth for a truck on 36"s. I would think with my set up I could run 37"s with little to no rubbing I have none now. I also have ad a leafs in the rear to level it.

Scrwdrvr would you say you like the ProComp lift? Have you looked at any other lifts? The leveling kit goes on the top of the strut and the frame of the wheel well. What was the cost of the lift if you don't mind me asking? What about the Rancho lift I have been looking at them but they cant fit as big of tire as the ProComp. I see you have a 2010 Street Glide I have one too. I just took my Street Glide on a cross country trip in June.

I've been happy with the Procomp lift but I really dont know anything about any others. I payed 5800 for my lift installed and that included the lift, wheels, tires, add a leafs, and a programmer. I've been told that was a pretty good price but I've really never had anything to compare it to.
Yea I have a Scarlet Red Street Glide, I love it I traded my 03 Heritage in on it and I'm lovin it. I bet that was a sweet ride cross country

That does seem to be a great deal. With everything you got done plus tires and programmer sounds like a good deal to me.
My ride is vivid black. I like the tour pack. I will end up getting one down the road. Right now I am trying to figure what to do with the exhaust. I put a Vance and Hines slip-on on but from what I'm told the area where it goes 2 into 1 is full of packing it acts like a catalic converter. Its those dumb California emissions laws. Yeah that cross country trip was unreal. We did Route 66 to Cali, then headed north on the Pacific Coast highway (amazing road to ride) to San Fran over the Golden Gate bridge through the Sierra Nevada mountains. Into Reno, Salt Lake city to the Devils Tower, Sturgis amd back home. Total miles were 7591. Last day we went from Chicago to Philadelphia that was a long day of riding.
I have a couple mods. Slip on exhaust, Klock werks windshield, sissy bar and stealth rack, highway pegs, temp and oil level digital dipstick, stage 1 air cleaner the sportster style and a power commander 5. If you don't have a power commander 5 I would highly recommend it. The bike handles like a totally different machine after its installed.

For mods I've done the chopped tour pack on the 4 point quick reliece and I hve the sissy bar, boards for the passenger, highway pegs, 10 inch winshield with triple pouch and a Rush slip on muffler. I'm sure yours is packed, mine was I took the baffle out unpacked it and cut 1/3 of it off. Sounds pretty sweet now. I'll check into the power commander 5 sounds like a must mod. The Klock werks windshield is that the one with the curved edge? Man that ride does sound awesome, I'm not far from Philly were you ended

Did you take the baffle off on your slip-on pipe or did you remove the packin in the header pipe? The windshield I love it. I would recommend it. The wind goes right over your head. I am not the tallest guy but the only thing I feel is a little tossel on the top of my hair when riding. Funny story when I was on my cross country trip I met Brian Klock while at a gas station in Jackson MN he was a really nice guy. His shop is in Mitchell SD. Cool little town they have a place called the Corn Palace if you ever go out that way check it out.

Scrwdrvr how do you like your Pro Comp lift? I was also wondering if there was any cutting to the frame in order to install the lift. I got a quote of 2700.00 for a Rough Country lift installed but they have to cut some things out and I don't like that. I am worried about them possibly weakening the frame from the crossmembers they cut out. I see that Skyjacker has a lift that doesn't require any cutting plus its a little cheaper then the Pro Comp.

I dont know if the Procomp lift requires any cutting or not but I've been running it for 4 years and I've been very happy with it and have had no issues due to the lift. After I lifted mine I added a set of procomp ladder bars because you tend to get a little axle rap after lifting and that eliminated that.
