hey my fellow ford fans heres my deal last saturday(8-07) started truck up to move out of drive way started but sounded and acted funny shut it off started agian same thing thried agian started fine ran fine . later that day went to home depot started drove off, a couple of miles away engine light came on stopped at red light started to shake and then the motor died would crank but no start called AAA towed home started checking things fuses fuel pump lose connection came here started reading other post of same problem dont have all the test tools i need so had it towed to shop where the owner seemed very familar with the 6.0L issuses ran code test says shows high pressure oil fail so they started to check thing along that line and found hpop failed gave me rough quote of $2500 for everthing (diagnostic,confirm problem ,repair) will get full list and exact price monday is this an outragest price or pretty close dont have any idea what do you guys think. 2003 185,000 banks exhaust snow performance meth injec. everthing else stock never had any real problems before this. ps just paid it off last month

 

Did you try disconnecting the ICP sensor (or at least inspect it for being oil soaked) before you took it in?

What were the codes?

 

03 pump failers seem to happen more common then most. figure 12-14 hours labor and about $1000 for the pump.
so ya $2400 and thats about the same as dealer pricing goes.
