Decided to try my Superchips Cortex from my Expy in my Excursion today, after reading it is made for gas and diesel Ford trucks, and had some good reviews for the 7.3 Powerstroke.....................well all I can say is, I'm glad I didn't buy it for the Excursion! I'll keep it as it's a good code reader/clearer - but it sucks when it comes to improving the Ex

In 'heavy haul' mode it pulls well up to 50mph, and gets off the line suprisingly quick (and would even spin the rear wheels with a try) but anything over 50mph was just horrible, it was trying to rev waaaaay too high, and not use the torque of the big diesel - I will try it on the economy mode, but I'm not expecting much!

Also jacked up the Ex to 43" from ground to fender to see how high it looked and felt getting in and out etc, after reading up on people's different lift kits..............

I am at 46 front 47 rear inches to the fender with my 6 inch skyjacker lift. I have a prosthetic left lower leg and have only been walking for about 6 weeks with it. At 6'3" and 320 lbs, I don't have a problem getting in using the factory step bar.

I think it does look funny with stock tires, but the wife said I had to wait for new ones a little longer.

Pick these up for a buddy of mine who picked up a new to him Excursion recently. They are v-code springs from a 2003 F250 that my buddy had pulled off his truck when he had 2400 miles on them.

Now to find time to help him install.

Also, I was able to snap this cool picture while I was picking them up.

Drove off earlier and forgot to unplug the block heater... Luckily, no damage to anything.

Actually, you may not have to wait that long....

Depending on the condition of your current tires, you may be able to head to discount tire co. and trade up to the bigger ones you need. I had the same problem when I lifted mine, I'd had the kit, but the people who were helping me lift it had a "we'll help you when we have time" schedule. Well, I went and bought some new Michelin LTX M/S tires the day before and got a phone call saying "now's the time". So needless to say, my truck ended up looking like this:

A few strings were pulled for me later that day and they were able to upgrade me to the 35s I needed (315/75/16) for a very small cost to me (don't remember what it was, but probably wasn't more than $200):

I'm not sure what they may offer you, but it's definitely worth a shot.

That really sucks to hear, Glad you're ok though.....

I can't imagine (nor do I want to) my truck being totalled in an accident. Alot of blood, sweat, tears, and not to mention alot of love has gone into my truck; it would be devastating as I imagine it is for you....

Hope the insurance company settles up with you and takes good care of you. Keep us posted on progress...

Well I actually got my Ex in the garage for the first time in months. Got the fuel module replaced for the supercharger and removed the previous owners bug-guard.
Also getting the original 05 bumper ready to go back in the 05 Ex, to get it ready to sell, and put the RA on the 00 Ex.

But have a 1994 SUBURBAN in there now getting the water pump replaced... After having the 00 Ex in the garage, and now a 2500 4x4 7.4 burb, the burb looks puny

But it is easier to work under the hood

Drape the extension cord over your drivers side mirror so you'll remember to unplug it first. Or prop the drivers side windshield wiper up off of the windshield as a reminder.
