oil shooting out of the dipstick tube?

My 352 is running great but the driver side of the engine compartment keeps getting soaked in oil, all the gaskets are good, and its not coming out of the oil filler. it really looks like its coming from the dipstick tube. what would cause this to happen?

Before dis-agreeing, take a gander in the 1965 or 1966 owners manual in the section listing capacities. What you will see is the following:

5 quarts *

At the the bottom of the page: * 6 QUARTS WITH A FILTER CHANGE.

If the engine only takes 5 total quarts WITH a filter change, the oil pan is not the original. EDIT: Or the dipstick is from a passenger car.

Passenger cars took 5 quarts of oil with a filter change, used a different oil pan and dipstick than 1965/66 F100/350's w/a 352.

Dipsticks have stamped ID numbers on them. If you aren't sure, post what the ID number is.

Well, guess my oil pan has been replaced, only took 5 quarts w/ filter! I noticed that the pan had a recent paint job! What pan is a 5 qt replacement?

No # stamped on the dipstick, overall length is 19.5 ", not counting the handle.

Any info to help me with determining if I have the wrong dipstick or the wrong oil pan?
Hate to run 6 qts when oil pan is a 5qt!!!

I'd suggest possibly getting a new dipstick & make sure you press stick securely down. My 7.3 does this, have blow by, but only blows out the dipstick when I dont properly insert it.
But could also be excessive combustion. Get a compression test.
