need new trailer tires!

I would recommend Good Year Marathons. They were made overseas for a few years but are now made in the USA. I just returned from a trip to West Yellowstone, going thru the Big Horn Mtns it was 98 degrees, stopped to check everything, tires were running cooler than the 285s on my X. 3500 miles in six days with zero issues. The tires I replaced were nine year old Duros. While everyone seems to hate Duros, I can't complain about nine years! If i'd have known about the date code on the tires, I would have made the dealer replace the tires when I bought the TT.

I just got back from a trip to Grand Lake, CO, and Palo Duro Canyon SP, TX. Now I’m back in steamy Houston. I’ve had those nasty load range C Carlisles (radials) since I bought my 29’ TT in 2002. Seems like every trip no matter the distance I blow at least one tire, and I keep my speed around 63 MPH. The latest blown tire which I bought this past April had less than 1000 miles on it. I looked at the date and it was made in 2004. I was not a happy camper (pardon the pun)! As my wife says “vacation wouldn’t be vacation without a least one blown tire.” Unfortunately my TT came with 14” rims and I don’t think I can find load range D for this size rim. My solution, feeble as it is, I keep two spares on hand, and I have a Trailer-Aid to make the changes quicker.
