no reverse on my 5r55e trany after a v/b up date
99 range 4.0 5r55e just put in a shift kit in the valve body. valve body gasket was bad, so when i started it up i have no reverse at all, drive works good but no sure about t/q converter lock up or o/d working. but it does shift good in drive, just told my wife not to back up. she did not find that funny at all. what did i do wrong here, how do i fix it know....... HELP

When you had the valve body out, you had to remove the rearmost servo, if this is anything like an A4LD, which I think is the grand-pappy model. The strut or anchor for the rearmost band may have fallen out of place without the spring load of the servo to keep it in place.
If you are good at fishing with a screwdriver or another probe, you can reposition the strut between the end of the band and the case of the transmission, and then re-install the servo. You have to drop the servo to be able to maneuver the band and strut into place.
It may not have a strut, but has a spot on the internal case where the end of the band is anchored. It has been too long... I'm pretty sure that you can 'apply' the rear band using a philips head screwdriver of the proper diameter to make sure that it is anchored correctly.
