I am sure you will like your chevy. Hope you make great friends with the service department guys also. I used to be a chevy guy forever, but I defected to the fords and havent looked back. My last chevy for my son to use was a cavalier and I hope you do better than I. I recently replaced it with an 06 V6 mustang hardtop.
The list of items the cavalier wore out is lengthy. Daytime running lights went at 8000, battery at 3 years, multifunction switch at 15000, radio blew at 20000, alternator at 30000, tires every 30000, brakes at every 20000, seat wore through at 50000, both sunvisors had holes at 50000, rear heated window stopped working by 30000, the list goes on and on. Recalls for starter wiring ,air bag sensor, and for rack and pinion assembly. Dealer smashed the rear quarter when in for a recall also. The fords I have bought have faired way better.

Good luck with your new truck! I had an 03 1500HD Silverado with the 6.0L engine and 4.10 rear.and had 100K trouble free miles of traveling with the family and camper. The truck was great for what we used it for. In January this year we went with the F250 this time around for something different.

Big mistake if you had to go with Chevy or GMC should have waited to go with the 2011 Silverado or Serria HD. GM has finally caught up with Ford (so I think only time will tell), but from what I read its sounds good. I'm never goanna drive anything but Fords, but the new GM HDs sound good.........................actually should've bought a 2011 Ford Super Duty with 390 HP/ 735 TQ but still get 21 mpgs. Maybe next time.

Congrats on the new truck. Aside from replacing outside door handles and door lock actuators with every oil change you should be happy. If you need any service information or TSB or recall info etc feel free to pm me. Also, DO NOT! go by the oil life index if you value your camshaft and lifters. :-)
