Yep, basic same idea. With corn, you have to get fertilizer in the ground some way and in some form. A lot of guys will put down NH3 at an angle then go through and cultivate the field and then plant straight. With strip-till, it asks the question, 'why not put the corn where the fertilizer is at?' You get the (few) benefits of tillage, and all the benefits of the fertilizer. Instead of fertilizing the soil, you are fertilizing the seed (feed the seed). Fewer passes across the field and better control of erosion. You can either put on less fertilizer and still get the same yield, or the same amount of fertilizer and higher yield, compared to "conventional tillage".

That has been an issue around here. We have never had problems directly, but anymore at the co-op's they have locks on the valves to prevent that. They guys "collecting" it much already be high. I don't know how they can just dump it into a cooler or jug and walk away. I catch a whiff of it and I'm running for clean air!!!

Yep, bought it new 5 years ago, definitely worth every penny. It's the heaviest built trailer I have yet to see. Their paint job sucks, but it's well built. I guess I never really noticed the squeaks, compared to other trailers we have it's pretty quiet.

Those pics really make me miss working on the farm. We bought a '96 PS new to do work around the land and it ended up being a combine hauler. Truck and load ended up being over 26k GVW so I actually had to use my CDL just to drive an F-250. Ah the good old days. Thanks for bringing back some good memories. And yes...those 20's look great on there.

Nice pics Adam, like Bama said nice to see these trucks being worked instead of being treated like prom queens!!! I miss cruising thru Iowa and talking to the farmers niciest people on the face of this planet.

Is that an old IH cylco planter? I used to know a few guys that had them, but come to think of it now I can't think of anyone that still plants with them.

Weren't they notorious for skips and doubles?

What autosteer setup are your running on the New Holland?

Yep, it's a rigid 30' bar with the end transport. Someone added split rows on the front and the extra tank in the middle. It is a nicely built machine. My dad has been wanting to do that for years, saw this at the sale and figured it was easier than building one.

Yea, it'd meter the seed at the tank, then blow it 15' down a tube to the row unit. So obviously the spacing wasn't the most accurate. It'll work great for a bean planter, the 'originial' bulk fill!!

It's a trimble auosteer, with a Nav2 controller. Using RTK, neighbors have it so we are "stealing" their base station signal.
