No issues driving in the tow tunes unloaded. I personally prefer to drive on my 65tow tune in town, the shifting is better.

I wouldn't think there would be any problems. Probably just not as good of economy as the 80E, since the Tow functions try to keep EGT's down.

I drove a little bit this winter in my 60T because the throtthe is not as touchy when in the snow and i have heard of others daily driving in their tow modes. You will be ok doing that. I would hate to be without mine also. If you bought your tuner from RiffRaff I believe he will send you a newly burnt chip and you return your old one so you have no down time.

Edit: Wow am I a slow typer...

When I was ordering my DP from DP, DIanne had said she had seen the best econonmy on her 60t.. Although she did say that since her tune, Jody had done improvements. WHat I am saying is, Diane Does it..

I have a 60T and 80E and switch back and forth at times. Haven't seen too much of economy differences - but my right foot may contribute to this... I use my 60T for towing, bad weather conditions and stop and go traffic in the city, the 80E for highway and empty driving in the mountains.

guess the only diffrence would be the shift points mabe just keep the 80T for towing and trafic. not realy worried about the E my foot screws that up anyways thanks

Wuttrd,

There would be no issues driving empty in your 80Tow around town. Yes shift points are different in the tow tunes, but the overall low end power will do nicely around town. You'll be aware of the shift points, but it won't hurt anything driving unloaded.

Diane

I have got to where I use my 60E more than anything. Not to much difference in the 80E, but cleaner burning (less smoke) and a tad better fuel econ. All trucks and engines are a little different, but that's the way I roll.

I have the 60T and use it for towing only, not that it would hurt anything, I just don't like winding out the gears. Or maybe I should say I prefer the shifting of the 80E MUCH better. Although not the only reason at all, one of the things I just LOVE about my DP is the number of choices I can have at my fingertips. I live at 5400' elevation, drive up and over 11,000', and when I visit family back East, I'm at 250' if I'm not right on the water. Yes... I need more tunes, but that's coming with a 38R & Casserly Stage I's (much to the demise of my bank account!!)
