CCV Mod Trap

I was looking at building an oil trap for my CCV system when a friend suggested one of these. You could also add a pot scrubber inside the strainer.

It opens easily without tools and you can buy replacement screens at ag supply stores. You can even get different mesh screens for it.

I don't know how oil resistant it is. The friend who suggested it has a backround in engineering if that means anything.

I used one. see this thread https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...ml#post7268834 it is on a 6.0 but the traps work the same.

works fairly well, but I have mine plumbed back to the intake. It does leave a little mist, but not like stock. I'm gonna probably just buy the racor filter. I dont' know if I have more blowby (hope not, the oil cap on the filler neck trick says not too much) but my truck stinks with syn rotella. somebody else had a recent thread where they uses something similar, but it was a clear trap. looked pretty sweet.

That looks like it would work well but when I decide to do mine, I'm looking for a see thru clear trap, even with the muck I would be able to see it and know when to emty it. I did see one just recently in a thread posted, nice setup it was.

I have a trap made from a PCV mod from Ronspowerstroke a long time ago I really like it but I am thinking about just getting a trap and running it back into the intake after draining the oil. I get alot of CCV smoke and would like to clean it up.

That's my plan also. This strainer/trap looked like a cheap solution for removing the oil before returning the stink to the intake.

I think just draining the cup at every oil change should do the trick.

CrankCaseVentilation. Stock vents from valve cover right back into intake making an oily mess in the inter cooler tube and beyond. From what I've read the mod will remotely filter the oil mist and vent to atmosphere or back to intake. I read one that vented to the exhaust. Exhaust route Not recommended from the posts I read.
