i do not think you understand my situation I have nothing bad to say about a V-10 because i've never had one but i have had 5.0s, 289s,5.4s, 351c,and4.6s,all of these are good SMALL BLOCK CAR ENGINES I want a big block in this truck so please this is not an engine swap i need the 5.4 is in perfect condition its just not a BIG BLOCK

If a BIG BLOCK is all you are after why not get an older truck with one already in it (or from a body style/era that came with one). You could pick it up cheap and still have money left over to up the HP since that seems to be what you're after. Otherwise you are going enter into a nightmare and end up with a truck that you may or may not be able to register depending on how fast emissions testing gets pushed down our throats in the name of saving the environment. Plus if you ever go to sell it who is really going to want to buy it.

Ok, I get why you are doing it now.
You REALLY need to look into the tail pipe testing and deside if you are sure you can get it to pass.
In the county I live in if I took an 04 in and it had no OBD II plug for the test, it would fail on the spot.
What year 460 are you puting in?
Where do you live?

well, sounds like you are set on doing this, so go for it.
so you need crossmembers, engine mounts, tranny mount, wireing, instruments, maybe switches and radio too
does your transfer case drop to the correct side?
might be easier (and more legal) to get an old chassis and put the new body on it.

I looked into it more on the Baumann website. You can use the E4OD, and buy a stand alone electronic control box to operate the trans functions. So you can have the OD with the 460.
If you are waiting until the 5.4 dies, you may have a long wait though. 70K miles for that engine is nothing.

I don't think it's a problem with "WORK". I'm planning on putting a one of the new 5.7 Hemi's in my 1949 Dodge Coronet. However it is an "UPGRADE" over the old motor not a "DOWNGRADE". Plus I can make it emissions compliant (if they ever decide to smog antiques) while making a lot more power.
