Hello friend to my knowledge there is nothing in the VIN that will tell you whether or not you have an original "BIG WINDOW" cab.
Here is a F600 that had an original big window section from another cab cut in.
Here is a cab with one of the new repop big window section installed
This a former SWindow F600 firetruck cab
so..... "fully dressed" where cab is not in bare metal you would be pressed to determine an original BWindow cab. IF you like the truck buy it. Best wishes in your pursuit

ooo nice looking truck. I have a feeling that's instore for my truck someday...
I had a link that showed how to do the conversion which would have showed you what to look for if it had been done.
Look for welds around those areas. If I remember right everything original was done off of spot welds, not welds that make a bead. There would be no weld marks anywhere. If you don't seen anything inside and think it's still possible, sand a little bit and take a look if there is any filler over a cleaned up weld. The chances of having it welded in so perfect, cleaned up so perfect, and done so perfect without leaving any trace behind would probably be worth more than an original, ha.

This is what I have found. So far all trucks I have seen with factory big back windows were built in the San Jose Plant. This will be an "R" in the vin number.
This is why MOST of the big windows were in California.
Not all big windows were custom cabs and not all custom cabs were big windows!
Check the vin for an "R" in the vin F10V6R1*****

All 56 big windows I have seen come out of San Jose, code R, F10D6R-52121, I think, not positive, all the originals I have seen also have the paint code SS, I have had mine for 44 years and I am the second owner and have seen quite a few and all have had an R in vin and SS for paint code.

Hey bcBigWin! Welcome to FTE!
You actually responded to a thread that was 10 years old. Why don't you start your own thread and tell us about you and your truck? We love stories about long-time owners. I've owned my '53 for almost 44 years myself. I bought it in 1976.
We also love pictures. Lots of pictures.
Again, welcome to FTE!

not sure if this helps
56 : 1956 : Ford Truck : F100
here is a vin decoder. of course nothing about big windows except that there were only 6200 made. Not sure if that would be indicated in the production run at all.
