Yes, they are the plate that the bumper brackets bolt to. Now you have to take some metAL AND MAKE 90* bracket to bolt to that and that bolt to the stock front bumper.

And what will that do?Other than make him have to weld them back on! The holes are in the plow frame by your hand to bolt on bumper brackets

From what I remember of our Western plow bracket, that does look like it has been broken and/or modified several times.

The 6" height is a pain off road, but if you make it any higher one plow end or the other will not touch when you angle the plow.

Also a higher hitch point makes the plow want to dig in instead of gliding over the surface.

JoeDaf,
Welcome to FTE and the IDI diesel forum.

A 6.9 is just begging for a turbo.

Well, any NA diesel is just begging for a turbo.

HELL YES!!!!!!!!!!

The bottom end of the engine not only has massive true 4 bolt main bearing caps, but the caps themselves are so massive that they re enforce the block it self. Have a look at this:

We do know of a 6.9 IDI that was built for drag racing and made 1500Hp. Supposedly, the problem they had with the block was the core plugs would fall out from the flexing and vibration. Bottom end failures have happened, but I never heard of one happening below 600Hp unless it had underlying problems.

6.9s get turbocharged more often than you might think and they hold up just fine if you stay below 10 PSI. Above that, head studs are advised to prevent head gasket leaks.
