Power steering pump replacement
2002 5.4 -- has anybody replaced a p.s. pump on this engine.Looks like a pain in the a@# compared to older trucks with it up much higher. My is working but looks pretty rotten and would rather replace it in the nice weather than to have to replace it during the winter.

PS Pump Remove and replace
I have a 06 350 diesel took me a good couple hours.
Make sure you have a pully puller!! It was a must for me to get the high (smaller line) off the pump. I drained the reservoir, removed the three bolts from the pump to loosen it up. Removed the pully. Reinstalled pump with one bolt. Unscrewed high side, used pliers for low pressure line removal. Reversed for install.
Filled tank to appropriate level. Bled system by turning wheel left to right for a few minutes with engine running and check for leaks and refilled PS reservoir. Remember to use ATF Fluid.
