1940 COE purchase, maybe

Hello all,
I'm usually over on the 48-56 forum since I have a 51 f1 and a 52 F6 but have got myself all worked up about this 40 COE that I would love to buy.

It's behind a fenced/gated yard with dogs so this was as close as I could get, I hope the price is reasonable but I guess I'm not sure what that is< lol

I finally got ahold of the owner and he said he would sell it< (dont know price yet,) I'm going to meet him in the morning and get to inspect it closer. Windows are not in it so I'm worried the floor is totally gone??

I think I noticed another 41-47 COE as well plus he has everything ranging from Model A's up to early 60's so I cant wait to wander around his place...

what do you all think of the truck?

Cheers

Josh

Very cool. possible the floors are gone due to the windows being down or missing. But the cab corner isnt showing to much sign of roth though, so maybe you got lucky.

I think thats a great find. I like the COE's and that one looks pretty solid unless there's major bodywork hidden under that "Pinkish" paint job.

Steve & I would love to find a place like that to wander thru, even more so if the guys a talker and knows the history behind all the various vehicles & stuff he's hiding there.

Good luck and please let us know how your visit goes - oh yeah, I'm jealeous.

The cabovers always seem to be "in your face". I like them. The one shown looks more like a '39, but I'm no expert. Good luck!

So here is what I found. I only had a few minutes to look them over, I will be going back in a week or two and hopefully we can strike a deal on something. my Father in law really wants the COE Fire truck.

That truck with the "house" on back is cool. Its a shame I'm so far away, I would love to get that 42-47 out of there.

Actually that Log Cabin COE was not at this yard, that one I spotted down in Southern Utah in front of a motel, I think is is the "Honey Moon Suite"
If this cabins a rockin don't come a knocking

This thread is almost 3 years old, COE's may may/not exist any longer.
