High Flow DPF: MPGs and Clean

High Flow DPF: MPGs and Clean
Found a couple of articles that are very interesting on www.dieselpowermag.com about getting better mileage out of the 6.4L without removing the DPF. Here are the sites:

This tuner was interesting because of the proven mileage gains. another option for someone who doesn't want to remove the DPF but wants better mileage.

The High Flow DPF from ATS Diesel is still in the testing stage I believe (I could not find it on their site) but it seems that it would have a pretty significant impact on the fuel mileage over the stock setup. It improves exhaust flow by 30% and it doesn't force the truck into regen as often; sounds pretty good to me.
Just wanted to let everyone know that there may be an option to removing the DPF once ATS puts the high flow DPF through its testing.

We can only hope! My question is how much would these dpf's cost? If a stock one is 3 grand like everyone says, it's hard to believe these would be much better. Also, how would it affect the warrantee? A person should not have to choose between better mpg's and more power, or voiding a warrantee. There definetly needs to be product that gives you both.

Ford and the other manufacturers will have to improve mileage soon if they want to keep selling these $50K rigs. I, for one, am sitting on the sidelines waiting for the mileage to improve and cost of ownership to come down. It'll be a cold day before I spend my hard earned pay on a truck that'll need a $3000 DPF replaced every 100,000 miles or so. That's as stupid as buying a Hybrid car and having to spend $3000 for a battery every 7-8 years.
