ive seen bent shifter but not anywhere near that bad....they would have to be pretty damn freaky to bend it like that

they are really thick it impose to bent until it have torch heat to do that. My guess that owner have long arm or try carry 3 passengers so shifter hit #2 passenger legs.

That really looks like it was on purpose. I was thinking the other day that I wish mine was bent like the old ones from the t18, where it goes up a little then back and then up again so the **** is closer to you with out hitting you.

yeah i agree...i had mine out and while i didnt try really hard i did attempt to bend it with no luck, pretty much need heat to successfully bent it

how do you get the shifter out of there. I found a junkyard truck with one but could not figure out how to get it out

If the shifter isn't hitting the dash...leave it. My 5-speed shifter hits the center console in reverse. Probably modified to clear middle passenger.

pull the boot off and you will be looking at the top of the trany
their will be 3 torques head screws i belive T25 or T30
take them off and make sure the trany is in neutral
and is will just pull out
its simple
but make sure the trany is in neutral

oh sorry
i am telling you how the take the whole fork and piviot ball along with the shifter seat bushings
which is alot easyer than trying to seperate the two parts

i knoiw this because i went thru the same **** mn my truck the previous owned did a hack job on the shifter to acommodate the 3in body lift
and i pulled it out in reverse it took me 2 days to figure out how to set it back to neutral witha screwdriver and flash light
