NY does emissions inspections. Did they inspect it?

If so, you have a leg to stand on with the exhaust manifold studs. They shouldn't have passed it for emissions with the exhaust manifolds leaking

I dont know how true that would be with the new system in mass they just plug a computer in and as long as it isnt throwing any codes it passes emmisions. might be diff in ny.

Oh, they do that here too, but there should be a visual inspection or at least SOME type of going-over.

Yes they did inspect it.

I was supposed to take the truck in this morning but I have two sick kids so I called the service manager to let him know I would be late and he said he had a mechanic out sick so he would like to wait another week to do the repairs. I ageed eventhough it has allready been almost a month since they ordered the parts, after they had the truck for 8 days. But I want it done right and they are planning on having my truck for "at least a week" so im not looking forward to giving it up. Anyway, I told him about the manifold bolts and he said "no problem" so when I drop it off I will remind them the they are fixing the tranny, power locks, AND manifold bolts. Hopefully all goes well. so far so good. Im bringing it in a week from today. So far they have been great to deal with, better than any other dealer I have delt with in the past. Hopefully they keep up the good work.

In NY its just a visual inspection, we cant fail it if the manifolds are leaking. If the cel is on and they are the reason...well then you need to repair/replace the part. Unless the manifold is missing then really an exhaust leak wont fail.
