sounds pretty close. mine was 45k sticker, paid 37k. just find out the invoice price and subtract the rebates. everyone seems to be getting at least invoice. rebates are 4k now?

I'm not Tom but if I may...Are you starting at invoice? which invoice? dealer invoice or manufacturer invoice? I'm not talking MSRP either I was told that the saying at the dealership GM for years has gone "know your three before you get to me." Meaning the salesman needs to know the three price points and always make a minimum 3% on the deal from any of the three price point-- Does this ring true for anyone?

Good luck with your deal....

That sounds about right; 20% off MSRP. That is what my deal worked out to be.

do you have a trade-in too? They play the numbers game with either your new truck selling price or your trade-in price. Fortunately I got a great deal on both parts for my deal.

Well i called 2 dealers and basically they have a 40000 sticker and all said and done around 34500 for it...not happy with that. i have 6 ford dealers within a 10 mile radius so i will still plug and chug. i do not need a truck now but want it know. I can wait till October when ny child is here.

I am trading in my Acura(not the most favorite car ford wants) but the numbers were talked about without a trade.

One dealer would not even sell the truck at invoice, said i have to make something so add 400 bucks. I asked about a hold back and he was speechless. I truly do not like dealing with salesmen where i know more than them...wish i could just buy the truck on internet.

Steve...mind me asking your deal and numbers on truck and trade??

I already posted my details before, but basically I got $6900 off sticker (48250 msrp Platinum) and then $16,350 for my 2004 FX4 Screw trade-in. KBB "excellent" trade-in value said $13,300 for my old truck, so if you use that actual number, it's like I got $10k off sticker.

This is the 5th truck (3 new, 2 used) in the last 5 years that my family has bought from this dealer, so that could also be why they gave me such a great deal/trade-in. But my old truck was also in immaculate condiition with only 34k miles on it. I saw it listed for sale on their website for just one week and then it was gone, sold quick I assume.

Are you a Costco Member? Simply go to their website and enter the truck you want and they will refer you 3-4 local participating dealers that HAVE to sell to you at invoice. Cuts through all the BS with no hassle and a good starting point. They also give you $50 towards dealership parts/service for using the program. I heard Sam's Club has a similar program.

Again, if I may, a national magazine exists called CnsmrReprts (sp) and for a few bucks you get factory invoive + hold backs, incentives+ options priced, etc. As far as the stealership saying they/he needs to make 400$ ?, I say BS, have them make it from someone else. Drive a hard bargain- remember they don't sell anything until YOU decide to pay- goof luck

Stay with your strategy and keep trying. If you are not in a rush, which you indicated above that you are not, you have a better chance of finding that deal you want over time. I shopped over 20 dealers and walked out on numerous when the offers were not what I wanted. I was tracking the inventory and kept watching the dealers that kept growing the most. After about a month and half later, I eventually got the deal I wanted

You can use the Ford Build & Price website to check dealer inventories online. I was tracking over 20 in my area.

If you get 22% you would have done very well. If you dont manage to get 22% and take 20% you still got a great discount.

7 to 10k off sticker is very good for a brand new model....also they have to feed their families too you know.

Back in 04 when the new trucks came out, I think I only managed about 4 or 5k off sticker. But the same dealer I used now also gave me an awesome trade-in price back then for my 02 Sport Trac (gave me 22k vs. KBB value said just 18.5k).
