2000 F350 5.4 no start problem.

the battery died in the 2000, and it sat for 3 weeks before i found it. now with a new battery, it will crank, but not fire.
even with a shot of ether it will not fire.
i hooked the scanner up, but with the key on i get no readings, almost like the computer is bad.

anyone have any ideas on where to look??

well, i got into it a little more today, and i have no fuel pressure at the schrader valve on the passenger side fuel rail. so it looks like either there is no power going to the pump, or the pump took a crap.

When you key it on - does the check or service engine light illuminate? IF not, the ECM is not powering up and you'll not get fire or fuel.

Let's start there...

i forgot all about this post, because it only got 4 hits. the other post in the fuel section went quite a bit further into diagnosis of the problem.

it ended up being a burned out fuel pump.
