People wonder why i hate mice!!!!

I started my AVANTI up this past year for a car-show---and it puked out a bunch of mice out of the exhaust---looked crazy!! I use dryer sheets now,and just bought an electronic mouse contraption for my barn.
My 53 sat in a field for 15 years at a farm in Ohio. Right next to Boleys and if you saw the seat in his truck --looks like 100 mice lived in there.
My seat is near mint...and not recovered. How can this be? I do not understand how the mice and rodents ate up 1 seat and not the other. Must have had a cat nearby!! haha!! Any ideas?..........Bill

I hope you get 750 for the radio,Dave---I want to jam to 8track myself. I also removed my stereo as you all suggested and today went for the longest ride yet,and no problems. I have alot of power for a 6 and the trans shifts great. Love the 3 on the tree.
I put my 2 56s that were in the barn-in another area and now have the 71-53-63 all snug in the barn!! I primed the floor so it will hold up till spring and the painting begins. I will be using a boom bosmall battery powered) in the 53 and that is good enough. Bill

Anti-freeze attracts animals because it has a sweet taste and smell. Unfortunately, Dogs and Cats are also attracted to it. If you set the trap up in your shop or garage, PLEASE make sure that your pets aren't able to get to it. The horrrible demise described above is the same for pets that get into the stuff.
My farmyard cats like peanut butter, however, so I'm planning to install a screen around the top of the bucket to keep them from lickin' the plate!
A lot of people swear by "Fresh Cab" to keep the mice out of your vehicle. It is sold at farm stores, like Tractor Supply, or available on line. Here is a link to their site: Fresh Cab All Natural Rodent Repellent, Natural Air Freshener | EarthKind.com
(Note: I have no connection to this company)

Make a bucket mouse trap. Search YouTube for "Bucket Mouse Trap". You'll be amazed how well it works and how simple it is. It catches many mice in one night. There are plans online too. Simple to make with stuff laying around the house and garage.
I have four of these out-and-about on my property around my vehicles and farm equimpment. They work like a charm. Controlling the population is crutial since mice breed fast since they are food for so many predators.
Just make plans where you'll be dumping the mice (typically 5-6 a night when you first put them out) and the yummy dead-mouse soup.
Enjoy,

I feel your pain...had to rebuild the engine in my F-3 because of mice but I've put it all behind me now and prefer not to remember it all again...

I worked at a "filling station",while working my way through college.A lady pulled up ,asked me to investigate the squeal coming from the engine bay.I spied the problem, and had her stop the engine, and asked her if her neighbor had cats, because you know how they love to climb next to a warm engine. No,she said ,but she'd just gotten one.Whereupon I produced the tabby-orange paw/leg that had been wedged between the power steering belt and pulley, causing the squeal.
The cat lived to tell the tale, though, the customer said her kids named it Tripod.

Since this thread was revived, I will share an experience I had with a Model A engine. It had been sitting for YEARS so I decided to remove the head to check its condition. Upon removal there were the remains of a rattlesnake woven in and out of the water passages. Sure was glad it was dead....
