Toyota Tundra is compared to what Ford?
Well, it's kinda stuck off by itself. It's bigger than a Ranger but smaller than an F150. However, it's closer to the F150 than the Ranger (optional V8 and external dimensions close to the F150). It's offocially classified a fullsize truck but many truck owners don't consider it so. To answer the question, it's most often compared to the F150. It's not close to the F250.

so its a light duty f-150. does it offer the same specs as a f-150?
someone should do a test where they load up a f-150 and tundra and do some test like they do the chevys dodges and fords together.
p.s.- dont worry about me going to toyota, i jsut saw one of their tv ads and was wondering.

Toyota Tundra is compared to what Ford?
When people like to compare the Tundra to American fullsize trucks I like to provoke them by saying," Well if its so good, lets slap a 5th wheel in the back of that bad boy and see what it can do." I have seen many Ford, Dodge, and Chevy and GMC half tons pulling various size 5th wheel trailers even though they are probably not supposed to. Some were sagging and some weren't. Lets put the tundra to that test.

Toyota Tundra is compared to what Ford?
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 17-Nov-02 AT 02:48 AM (EST)]From what I have read about the Tundra is that they make great city trucks, but don't size up when it comes to using a truck for a truck. When they first came out I read a Ford, Chevy, Dodge, full-size 1/2 ton comparison vs. the Tundra. Of course the Tundra had a nice fit and finish and had nearly identical performance to the big three unloaded. When they put 1,300 pounds in the bed it was another story. The big three had no problems and rode better but the Toyota would bottom out.

The Toyota Tundra is comparable to an F-150. The base engine is a 3.4L V-6 and the optional engine is a 4.7L V-8. As far as towing and payload performance I dont know how they stand against the F-150. The diminsions are very close to that of other fullsize pickups.

I don't see too many tundras on the road around here(SE Penna.). Must be because they are too expensive or not as good as the American Trucks. I knew one guy that bought a Tundra and he was happy with it and used it to drive to his Mountain house. The Tundra kinda looks like some Fords I have seen.

Toyota Tundra is compared to what Ford?
My wife says her next vehicle will be a Tundra. If Ford doesn't get their Service and Sales Departments in order and stop treating customers like they are doing us a favor by selling to us, I will go down and pick up the Tundra myself. It's a local thing, I'm sure, but Toyota is rapidly displacing the other dealers in my area. I have yet to meet a ticked-off Toyota truck driver, but I've met a LOT of disgusted Ford truck buyers lately.

Think about how many trucks the big three sell to what Toyota sells of the tundra. I've only seen 3-4 tundras on the roads compared to the thousands I've seen of the rest.
I test drove a tundra about a year ago. It was a nice truck, although its obvious it's an import truck (even though there made in Kentucky).
The 4.7L is a good motor, more efficient and more powerful than the rest, however it still doesn't make up for the fact that the tundra isn't as tough as the F-150, Silverado/Sierra, and Ram.
If you want a regular cab longbed or a x-cab shortbed truck, then take a look at one, the options are VERY limited and they are VERY overpriced for what they are. I'd take the others over one anyday!
