bouncy ride after 3" body lift, and 38X12.5 Swampers
It's been some time since i posted here, i have been busy and haven't done much to my truck.
last month, i put a 3" body lift, added 38X12.5 Swampers. Before i did this work, i had about 6" suspension and block lift and 35X12.5 BFG Mud Terrains, thus now giving me 9" of lift.
When i am driving down the road, about 30 mph, when i let off the accellerator, the truck "bounces" for awhile(typically until i slow down to about 20-25 mph)
Is this typicall after installing a body lift and larger tires?
Is there anything that can be done to fix this?
any advice would be great.

Could be the shocks, the tires are so much heavier that the shocks can't handle it. That's why most people put two shocks on each wheel, but if you get some really stiff shocks on there, you should be okay. The larger tires will also be more bouncy because the sidewall is larger, and the tires act like a supsension themselves, the tire absorbs some of the shock in a bump. You could go to a junkyard or a dealer and get the quad shock setup available on broncos or standard cab F-150s. That'll put two shocks on the front tires, and work nicely. Just cut the rivets off the spring seat you have, get some grade 8 bolts and bolt up the quad shock spring seat.

What am I thinking, you have a 79 F-250. Makeshift a dual shock tower, or get some RS9000s and put them on their stiffest setting.

No, but it shouldn't be that hard to make up something. Take a look at what you've got infront of you and see where you can fit a shock next to the one that is there. What kind of shocks do you have on there now? You might be able to get away with new stiffer shocks if the ones you have are older and wimpy. If the broncos are setup almost the same way as yours, I know jeffs bronco graveyard might have something, or atleast jog an idea or two. My specialty isn't the 79s so someone else will have to help ya out there, sorry.
