extended radius arms

Hello Lift People;

Both Skyjacker and Superlift offer extended radius arms. I have a 81' f150 4x4 302 and I want to do the 6" susp lift. How much benfit do you get from the extended radius arms? I will be doing mostly street and some offroad driving. Is it worth the extra money? Does help on alignment etc?

Thanks,
Keith

Superlift says "it creates more bind free travel" with the longer ones, but the main benefit is added strength. If you're doing anything over light off roading, get the ext. arms. I didn't get them on my old truck, and there is a lot more leverage on that radius arm bracket, and makes it more weak.

Primary rig is Green Thunder:
95' F-150 XLT 4x4, 302, 5 spd, MSD 6A, Flowmaster Exhaust, Sunroof, Clear corners w/ Diamond headlights, CD player with 2 10" subs and some 32" BFG Muds .

Thats it for now, saving for a stang. Check out my Gallery for a look-see.

they do help with susension travel a good bit.. look at the rockcrawlers who run a setup with radius arms....the longer the better because the bushing has to move less than it did with the shorter arm to obtain the same amount of travel.

The main benifit of extended radius arms is extended wheel travel. The strength of the extended arms is found in the mount, not in the arm so much. When using a stock arm with a arm drop mount, you put a good six inches of leverage on the frame. With the extended arms you have no drop so the strength of the mount is the same as with no lift.
