NEW MEMBER Introduction Thread (NO TECH QUESTIONS)
The goal is to restomod the excursion and keep it for a few years while the vehicle market figures itself out. We plan on buying a tt and this ex will be the hauler. We also needed more space as our kids seem to need a ton of stuff that our cuv cant take anymore on trips. We hope to sell it in a few years for a new truck.
I don't want to shatter anybody's dreams, but I feel I should at least mention this: After you've had an Excursion for a few years, you just might decide that you NEVER want to trade it for anything. I've seen more than a few people have a similar plan to the one you mentioned, but almost every one of them eventually ended up with a new truck parked next to their old Excursion. Either way, we're happy to have you here at FTE.
Please allow me to introduce myself
Hello, all!
I'm the proud owner of a new-to-me 2011 F250 XL crew cab, 4x4, long bed, and other stuff I wasn't expecting but very happy about! It was a tough decision, considering the used vehicle market and inflation, but we'll make do...
I'll be using it mainly to tow a 33' fifth wheel, and dwarf my '06 Crown Vic (I can hide the whole car behind it!!!) when not towing or hauling.
Seems to be in pretty good shape... Although it's missing a few pieces (spare tire/wheel, jack handle, spare tire letter-downer for instance) I'm HAPPY !!!!!
Thank you for this forum, and it's wealth of info (which I've already availed myself of). Glad to be here....

Hello everyone. I am Paul Reed from Louisiana. Just two weeks ago I purchased my first Ford truck. It's a Race Red 2017 F250 STX FX4 with 6.2L with 50k miles.
I love this truck. It is so perfect in so many way for what I need. I have done extensive study on the 2017-2022 Ford SD trucks before making my purchase so I know what I have and what to expect. I have a full bumper to bumper warrantee for up to 125K miles and 6 years.
It has a lot of nice options and it is lacking a few options I plan to add. The paint and body is perfect. No scratches or dents the shine is amazing. The step tailgate is a big help for me. It has the 360° camera and blind spot monitoring, and it has a nice sound system with SYNC3 and 8" screen. I had a new rhino liner installed right after purchase. The truck looks brand new inside and out.
It's really funny that for all of my life I have only owned GM vehicles. My dad owned a mix of GM and Ford over the years. I have worked on many Fords over the years and find they are no less reliable than GM despite what the GM lovers say lol. My nephew is a huge Ford fan. So much so that he named his doughtier Eleanor and his son Ford. I really am glad I made the decision do join the Ford brotherhood.

My truck didn't have one when I bought it. The first time I hauled a couple of things in it that wasn't tied down I realized I needed a bed liner. So I called the local Rhino Liner at Ford dealership and got one installed. It made a hell of a difference. No more cargo sliding around. I also like the durable appearance.

Greetings from the Pacific Northwest!
Hi All...
Just now joining after doing some research on a brake job I'm doing on my 2012 F350.
I've been finding lots of great information and helpful members here on FTE and am looking forward to interacting in the forums.
I'm finding this site an invaluable resource for a rather 'newbie' DIY truck mechanic and want to thank you all in advance for your assistance!
My current project involves refurbing the brakes on all four corners and I'm having some issues locating the correct e-brake backing plates/dust shields for the rear end.
I'm sure somebody has had this same or similar issue (Dorman plates don't seem to fit into the bracket), so I'm off to surf the forums.
Cheers!

One of the worst FB groups I've been in, ever. This is where forums come in handy, as long as it is active - which this appears to be pretty active.
