Hi from CT, soon to be AK

Hi everyone and thanks for accepting my membership request.

Have a 2017 F250 XL/STX FX4 6.2L gas outfitted to haul a 2018 Lance 825 slide in camper while towing a 2012 Forest River Wildwood 22RKS using a SuperHitch extender. She's a little on the heavy side, but thankfully still under GCWR. It's a challenge to keep the rear axle under its limit.

We're the rig on the right. Sunset in AZ.
We only do this config when we're moving per military orders. To help the ride, she has airbags and lower overload spring stableloads. Love this gas guzzling truck to pieces.

We're about to move from CT to AK by driving 4,500 miles across US and Canada. It's gonna be wild...I thought the trip from CA to CT in 2018 was crazy, but this... I'm having trouble comprehending its magnitude.

New Guy Intro

Good to meet everyone. Like a lot have said, I've been lurking for a while now but decided to join and hopefully contribute. Current setup is a 1999 F-350 with the 7.3, 355k miles.

I know that I want to begin upgrading, especially the tailgate and interior so more to come with that!

Ford trucks and America

Hi, I’m new on here but I’m not new to Fords. I love Ford vehicles and especially Ford trucks. Any vehicle can break down as we all know. I had a black 1995 F150 flare side that was a lemon, great looking truck, loved gas, I didn’t own it long before I traded it off. I’m looking to learn a lot with my new adventure, a 1974 F-250. It’s an old Farm truck that only has 38000 miles, believed to be original miles and titled as such. The previous owner only had it for a few months, unfortunately long enough to have a buddy spray it a nice shade of green, but would’ve been nice to have got the truck before the second owner put a cheap paint job over the original Ivy green. Interior is still Ivy green. But, oh well, it’s going to be a nice ride to fix up, I’ll be asking for help along the way. It has a original FE390 with a C6 auto tranny. My first truck was a 1977 F-150 I bought from my boss at that time. This was around 1985, it had a 351M and I loved it. I was young, so of course a lift and 35 Super Swampers. I had a lot of fun in that truck. As I got older I kept the lift and put BFG’s on it. In 1988 I bought a 1988 Supercab 2 wheel drive. I realized, or so I thought, 3 years later I wanted to down size to one truck. I sold both trucks and then I was offered a transfer through my work and was kind of screwed between vehicles. Long story short and several vehicles in between. I also owned a Ford Ranger 4x4, more recently a 2013 F350 that I sold last year and purchased a 2021 F-350.

Cool Newbie but not a youngin

Good afternoon FTE friends.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Howard. I live with my beautiful wife on the Colorado river in Arizona in Lake Havasu City.
We've been her for 16 years. moved from San Diego county.
Retirement is good in the desert of Lake Havasu.
Lots to do, as we say, winter sand (or desert off roading) and summer water or boating. And if it gets too hot we hook up our 5th wheel and head for the high country.

We are very involved in our church, but enjoy all the other activities mentioned above.
Probably my favorite hobby is scuba diving, off roading and camping.

Back to trucks. The 2017 F350 Lariat is my fifth Super Duty
1st was a 1999 F250 manual crew cab 7.3 Red (wish I still had that one)
2nd was a 2004 F250 Lariat Crew cab 6.0 Yellow (lots of trouble with the first gen 6.0)
3rd was a 2006 F350 (movin up) Lariat Crew Cab 6.0 Yellow (with the 350 now i could pull my fifth wheel trailer
4th was a 2015 F350 Platinum. Nice truck Pearl White (I just didn't like the white. In the desert with all the dust it always looked bad)
5th and current 2017 F350 Lariat crew cab fully loaned. Fire Bronze (I think ill have this one for a while. At least that's what my wife says)

Enough for now. See y'all in the threads.

Howdy fellow FTE!

Purchased my 1st Ford truck back in January. 2022 Ford F-350 Tremor with the 6.7 PowerStroke. My 1st diesel so I have a lot to learn from everyone.

The wife and I are planning some trips with our 2017.5 Lance 1985 travel trailer and are looking forward to towing through the mountain passes with the turbo diesel.

Been playing around with Forscan having fun customizing everything. Looking forward to learning more from everyone!

Well I guess I can officially partake in the SD forum! I've been driving an Excursion since Nov 1, 2019, and to be completely honest, I had every intention of getting into a Silverado 2500. I grew up in GMs and loved the massive aftermarket and the sound of a cammed LS.

Alas, an old colleague of mine had a 2009 F250 SuperCrew 8' RWD 5.4 for sale and I entertained the idea of buying it for a long time. Then he called and gave me the "it's today or never" ultimatum because he had offers come in from elsewhere. So I but the bullet and bought it. It's rough around the edges, but I got it for $4500, so no matter what it needs I'm still ahead of the game.

I've already begun picking up the parts for a 4wd conversion.

I posted in the main new member thread over the weekend. I’ve had (and been around) Ford’s all my life. Dad had an F250 I drove in high school, I bought a Ranger (compact),some F150’s and Expeditions over the last 30+ years.

Decided to sell the ‘08 Expedition and pickup a stock ‘03 F250 4x4 V10 (SC / SB / Lariat) w/92K miles. It’s the exact pickup (color too) I was looking to find for some upcoming trips and towing larger trailers.

Yeah, I have a twisted sense of humor posting the gas pump pic.

Love this site, love learning more about my pickup and others in here, and look forward to sharing any stories (good or bad). Thanks again.

Oh yes, here’s my new member link and more about my trip back after picking up my F250 in South Dakota. What a great drive and opportunity to get to know the countryside and pickup in the 30 hours of my trip.

Hello all @FTE!

I am new to join but have been to the site a few times over the years when I get stumped on something or just go down a rabbit hole on something I want to learn more about. Finally joining as I just purchased my first project and hoping to share some progress, solicit advise and just see what cool things I might look to try.
