rainbow decals
Does anyone know where to find rainbow decals that cover the whole side of the pickup. My grandpa bought the pickup new in 79 it is a F150 ranger and I would like to restore it and cannot find these decals anywhere I have looked. Also if anyone has a place that they buy parts for a 79 at decent prices it would be much appreciated. Thanks Joe

It's not really that hard to reproduce the freewheelin' striping with airbrush, and the body shop I use said it would only cost slightly more than the racetrack style 2-tone (nearly the same in material, more in labor, of course). Actually airbrushing was easy to learn, but you have to buy the equipment to do it, and I haven't gotten around to purchasing any.

I have no idea what kind of stripes came on his truck but I do know that rainbow colors or images of a rainbow on your Removed by Admin...we will have none of that talk Im sure it's not his case and I'm sure he's not wanting that type of rainbow but I'm suprise at how many folks don't relize that it's a Removed by Admin. Yuk!

It's not really "rainbow", it's more of a sunburst (yellow, orange, red and black). Just look for some of the previous posts about the freewheeling package and you'll see what we mean.
Furthermore, whoever gave the gays/lesbians exclusive rights to the rainbow anyway?
I don't worry about those kinds of things anyway, but then again I'm not homophobic - I'm perfectly confident and comfortable with my sexuality. Guess it comes from years of working with and around those sort of people. Don't ask - don't tell works just fine for me.

Sorry about wording
I didn't realize that rainbow decal wasn't to be used. It is the freewheelin decal that we are looking for. I didn't know what it was called before someone wrote it and didn't know how else to describe it sorry about the confusion. Anyhow I would like to find the freewheelin decals if at all possible. Thanks for your help Joe

There are no reproductions available for the Free-wheelin stripes. Your only options would be to either have a body shop duplicate the stripes or you could maybe have a shop that makes vinyl decals and stripes duplicate the stripes for you. I've seen a couple of restored Free-wheelin trucks over the years, so I know it can be done.
