When my truck is at a standstill the overdrive light on the column flashes, when moving light is off. Any answers?

 

there are alot of things that cause that light to go. Your best bet is to try and pull the codes with a scanner to really try to figure it out you could end up replacing sensors you don't need to.

 

For $10.49, you could try replacing the VSS sensor on top of the rear-end.. easy to replace.. Napa P/N 530780.. (they call it a ABS sensor).. Mine went bad about a year ago, but it also affected the speedo.. Also, check your auto trans fluid.. smell burnt? Have you been pulling any heavy loads ?

 

Thanks guys, I'll check into it Clint. Definetly pulling heavy loads, light has been on for a good 3 months or so, what are the long term affects.

The flashing od light usally means transmission is over heating but there are many things that can cause it..speed sensors, bad alternator, tranny on it's way out..pull the codes and find out where to start
