Alarm Goes Off After Unlock....
Ok well i have a small problem... I have a 1998 F-150 5.4.... This just started about the end of January everytime i unlock my truck and open the door the alarm goes off, and the theft light on the dash keeps blinking. I have to stick my keys in the ignition and turn it to the run position in order to turn it off. Its wierd i can lock my truck and then right after unlock it and open the door and the alarm does not go off, but if i wait about 10 minutes and then i unlock it and open the door the alarm goes off. This is a really annoying problem i hope someone will have some sort of idea what this thing could be. But i must say other then that, my F-150 is a great truck i have a 160,000 on it and its still runnin' strong... Im taking any sugestions..... Oh and a quick question i was looking at the Keyless entry remotes on ebay and i was just wondering if anyone has done the remote programing themselves, because it says on the ebay add it comes with the code booklet and its easy to program. I used to have a remote but i lost it so thats why i have been using my keys...Ok well i would really appreciate any type of suggestion to fix my problem. Thanks!!!

id say disconnect the alarm and don't use it, lol, unless you have expensive gear inside your truck, or you live in a not-so-great part of town. Sorry, I don't know much about alarms, I've never owned a car/truck that has one. Perhaps you have some sort of dirty/worn-out sensor in the door that doesnt read when you use your keys in the door lock???.....just a stupid guess...
I do know my buddy has a viper alarm system on his 98 navigator, and it is pretty sweet. The remote pages you if your alarm goes off, plus you can program it to do some awsome stuff. I'm sure you already have researched that though. Good luck.

Did you lose the remote and then realize this was happening right away?
the remote is the only thing that will disarm the alarm. Key will unlock the door, but doesn't disarm the system.
Either you 1. need to get a new key fob.
or 2. Don't hit the lock button when you get out of the truck - push the locks down by hand and close the door, the alarm will not arm if you lock it that way.
they are pretty easy to program..(series of turning key and pressing buttons).... just order yourself a new one

Yeah i lost the remote along time ago maybe like a year ago... It has worked great ever since then until now. The key always used to disarm the alarm but for some reason it doesnt do it now... I sprayed some WD 40 in it because i had noticed the lock was a little stiff, it made it easier to turn but the key still wont disarm the alarm. Im pretty sure its a dirty or broken senor, but i was hoping maybe someone had this problem before and knew how to fix it.... im taking all suggestions... lol thanks guys!
