Hello,
I am installing an EGR Cooler Bypass Kit. While I have things apart, what else should I do or possibly upgrade? I am going to change the intake elbow to a high flow. But is there anything else I should do while everything is apart?
Thanks!
2004 F-350 Crew Cab Lariat Dually

Mild chip for pulling. Superchips tow mode
EGR been disconnected with throttle plate removed.
injector(or maybe it's injection) control pressure sensor. pretty self explanitory right? I don't know much on it, I haven't had any problem with mine but have seen lots of threads of guys having issues with their's.
OK I actually was thinking about replacing that. I am also thinking of installing a coolant filter system as well. Replacing the EGR cooler with bypass not too big of a job. If possible, just take your time and check everything I say and replace what is remotely in question.
ICP was mainly the culprit to the 7.3 issues.. Due to bad designs.. Don't think the 6oh suffers from ICP failure near as bad as the 7.3 does.. Infact my buddy has I think two ICP's in his toolbox incase of failure.. It's a common sensor that 7.3 guys urge each other to carry.. I wouldn't worry so much on the ICP..
So what is the main purpose of this EGR by-pass. What do you gain from doing this??
greatly reduces the chances of an egr cooler failure which could put coolant into your motor. One of the few weak spots on the 6.0. No performance gain.
Electified_cc I see your truck is a 2004, Are you concern about Ct emission testing, all 2004 diesel will be up for testing next year(08) and they just plug in and check the computer to see if it is working. with the EGR delete you will get codes. how are you getting around this or not. I would like to do this also.
New-b.. It takes alot to install. Have to pull the intake manifold., turbo, etc. No real special tools. Alot of patience. I have a heated and cooled garage with all the toys if you know what I mean....lol good luck
satcom... I am planning on keeping all the electrical connectors in place and my EGR valve. But here in CT if you have a truck over 11,000 lbs GVW, you are not required to go to emissions. My 2004 Dually registered for 12K, as per factory specifications
