Pat, I agree on the big block thing.......that's what really caught my eye. Imagine my 390 in that car........
Rob, I'm not sure. I always thought the Galaxy's and Fairlane's were the same.......but looking at the one I think the roof line is a little different.......I have no idea though, I could be way wrong.....

From an old geezer that was 17 years old in 1966, the Fairlane was Fords intermediate size car. There were 3 general body sizes at Ford. The Falcon was the compact, the Fairlane was the intermediate(same general size as chebby malibu, and dodge coronet), and the Galaxy was the full sized. The first Mustangs were closest to the Falcon in size and components. Hope this helps with the history lesson. I would have loved to have had a Falcon Sprint back in the day with a V8.

Thanks for the compliment Jake, but I wasn't much of a gearhead then, but at that age you can name just about any car that is on the road and what engine etc. that might have been available.
The local Ford dealer in '65 had a red two door hardtop Falcon Sprint with a 265 V8 and a 4 speed. I really wanted that car, but couldn't afford it. The neighbor down the road bought if for his daughter. What a waste. For you youngins a two door hardtop means there were no "posts" between the front windows on the doors and back windows, so when the windows were all rolled down the profile was similar to a convertable with the top up. If the car had the posts, then we usually called the car a sedan. No posts and we called it a hardtop.
