Lightbulb Car (Truck) Cover

Ok, I am looking for personal experience only here. Due to garage size restrictions my truck (79 F150) has to sit outside underneath oak and pine trees It is not a daily driver and unfortunately sits for a week or two between uses. I just finished dumping some serious money into it and I would like it to stay clean for more than a day at a time. I need suggestions for a decent quality car (truck) cover to protect my investment. I don't want a car port type solution because I don't plan on living at my current residence for more than another year or two. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

Try the aftermarket forum or FTE's accessories sponsor sites

The same cover will fit trucks from 1967 to 1996.

It is not 73-79 specific.

Car covers can be a pain to use. Putting the cover on, and taking it off gets tiresome very quickly. The cheapy ones will scratch the finish. They are also easily stolen. A better solution, if you have space, is one of the new portable garages. These have a metal framework with a water resistant fabric covering. The doors zipper closed. There are different sizes, some can park two or more vehicles in a single row, or come as a double garage. The price, considering how good they are, is cheap. The type for a single vehicle sell for well under a grand.

Pine tar will eat into the finish within days, and will leave a permanant stain in the paint

I also suggest on of those portable garages NumberDummy suggested. They really aren't that expensive and more durable than just a car cover. If you are going to part under trees, a cover won't help with small branches falling from your trees and hitting your truck. They come in different sizes and fairly easy to put up with some help from a friend or two. Then when you move, take it with you.
