Red face pics of a borg warner 13-45-039-908

Mine isnt working still and my book thingy says its the shift fork and it doesnt LOOK like anything is wrong with it. Sooooooo i was hoping that I could have a pic to maybe compair it to. My transfer case is already open and vulnerable. I cant even find any sites as to how to take it apart. Sooo ANY input about this would help. Even if its not a big deal to you it just might be to me. Thanx!!!

Unhappy

Well i have done a lot of resurching and the place that wants to fix it wants $75 just to open it and look at it and then $650 to fix it. Ok so the part thats broke is only $65. so where is the rest of the money coming from? I looked online and they want $650 to give me a completly rebuilt case. Think Im getting riped off? cause I do.

Sounds like it's time for an upgrade to me,girl!!!

http://www.advanceadapters.com/atlas.html

check 'em out, for about $400 more you can make that case bullet proof....................that way next time it'll be the tranny that won't come out of gear,hehehehehe................JK I hope everything works out.

On the other hand you can get rebuild kits and parts for np cases. If it'll come apart, it'll go back together. Fix it, reseal it, and put it back in!

Unhappy Soooo

I got it apart and looked at the pieces (im a girl nothing looked wrong) put it back together maunually shifted it to 2x and put it on got some fluid pumped that in. (fixed my rear drive shaft) and now its not going.. then put it back in low 4x4 and it goes with a lot of pushing on the gas and then a big jump like the kind that gives people whip lash. Could it be my transmission? Like hating on my transfer case? I am gonna post about how i have no clue what tranny I have. (im a dork!) I am about to take him to the shop but then ill just cry! I hate leaving him overnight!

sounds like your tranny might be the problem. you can always locate a BG 1356 to upgrade to. should be easy to find and would be a direct swap for what you have.

For a rebuilt transfercase its $645. for a new tranny its $1,045. How hard is it to do myself? the transfercase i have experience getting off and putting it back on. but no clue how to take the innerds apart. I do have man power but he knows less then me.I say prices only because I know if i get rebuild kits its only $100. for each system..but can i even do it?

Check your tranny fluid level. When the fluid drops off in the tranny it acts like that - rev, rev - go - coast - rev, rev, rev - go! - coast.

Question well

Found the problem. I have pics in my myspace. www.myspace.com/yellow3 look under pics then frank the tank.. anyways. we took the whole thing apart and gutted the transfer case. There is a ring like half a toilet paper roll with a "lip" on it. It has a name like sun gear or something there are two possible choices its either $200 something or almost $100. So not sure what its called but went to pic n pull and after 20 min the kicked us out. *******s should have told us they were closing when we went in!! N E ways that "lip" (ill take a pic of the brokenness later) came completly off. And there is grinded metal all up in the transfercase cause of it. then the little fork pads well one is almost completly gone. good thing those things only cost $2.50 each. Sooo As soon as we get time we are gonna go back and take the case apart at the junk yard and jack um!! ill pay but still!!

why not just buy the whole case and install that. I would not spend time or money on a 1345 tcase especially since the 1356 will bolt right in its place

Talking Lol

Well LOL thanx for the compliment. Under my pics ya didnt find my truck pics? hmm. maybe myspace is slow today.. i added them this morning. Ill try to get them on her later.

I dont want to buy a 156 cause it cost more money. I am kinda on a no money budget. If I buy a 1356 at the junk yard its $150 no garantee. They have one though. So I am hoping to rip the case apart and just get the peice for cheap. Maybe ill get a 1356 when Hubbys Company hits it big... you need any animation work? or graphic?
