You know, it would indeed be interesting and informative.

I will commit to that learning exercise in my moment of frogginess!

Currently at 343k and counting in my 99'. It has spent the last 20+ years as tow pig with just regular maintenance. Had it serviced recently and the shop was blown away that it was still the original transmission (and injectors).

I'm with you... besides the original unmolested 4R100, I'm also still running on the original injectors, HPOP, turbo, PS pump & gearbox, A/C compressor, and rear end. Truck is my DD at a pace of about 11K miles per year with an occasional longer trip of up to 600-800 or so miles.

191K on my 2003 before i replace it last year in july with a sam wyse stage 1. it was shifting fine, no sounds, i change pan oil every 30-35k miles as well. I am third owner. First and second owner were friends and nothing was mentioned about trans change or or any issues when i purchased at 162K. In looking at the trans fluid and paperwork it did not appear the fluid had been changed ever.. it was not black just a more brown than red..

I dropped pan first time to clean hamster magnet and replace filter. then over the next 3-4 months would just open drain plug and replace some 7-8 qts.. finally got it to new looking fluid more or less. and a year later replace with 6.0L oil cooler and added John Woods valve body.. (not much towing just running around for business appts.)

PS john woods valve body for sale. $125 bucks including shipping..

at 191K miles and while in Ohio went to see cory at CNC fab and got the trans replaced then. reason.. not wanting to have issue as we pull a lot now, in the middle of NOwhere and have to spend 6-8K + vs 4K. It was easier to do on my schedule.. we were planning to do alaska this year but border closed to recently.. so maybe next year or year after.

currently in process of doing fluid change on advice of sam wyse from a stutter, shutter issues i had twice now when pulling hills.. cory put amsoil universal fluid in and i will be doing pan drain and refill with mercon V fluid.

Just turned 447k on mine today. Also all original everything, except I did change out the steering gearbox to a blue top this past weekend just to tighten things up a bit.

Yes, it was torn down and inspected. It showed some wear, but was not anywhere near worn out. The fluid didn't look bad, I think it was tested, but I really don't remember. This trans could have gone a lot longer if the truck it was in hadn't been totalled.

My e40d went 8xx,xxx on stock internals, so I know first hand the 4r100 will go the extra mile as well, cooling is the main factor along with maintance. There's a pics in my build thread showing it still had the factory installed TC in 2015, (that's when I installed the torco triple disc TC on the already "tired" trans that went another 50k iirc)
I'll take an auto over a hand shaker any day of the week.

Just for the fun factor on my "new to me truck" it has this TSB
tag on the trans, God knows if it's the factory installed trans on this truck or a reman installed back in 2000, and by judging at all the dirtyness on engine and trans I'm sure it hasn't been off the truck since 2000

Those stickers were applied at the trans factory, and were not on remans, which are done elsewhere. This is the original transmission in that truck.

Dam, so high possibility this thing is indeed the factory installed trans and with 463k.

My original 99 transmission made it 23,000 miles. Something plugged the cooler and burned it up. Second one made it 89k. And have had a bts ever since with zero issues

Only about 50k. And I need to clarify. The first transmission made it 23k and the second one to 89k.
