Put mine on yours for a day or two as I have yours on mine. I allways sit in front of my computer and visit with freinds. They allways ask about it and i am happy to tell them what I know about it. If it don't excite them than they arn't gearheads and not worth spending much time with as we don't have much to talk about. Think I might start putting the ride of the on my desktop every week. As long as it is old iron. Isn't much after the 78/79 that interests me much.

I have 2 '46 1/2 tons or should I say 1.5 :-) I don't know for sure which is the parts truck though, I think they both are. One came with a frame the other was sitting on an S10 frame (which I dumped). I have only one flattie but its probably from a '49 merc car. I am still tearing the 1st truck down to the frame so that I can start the cleanup (With the 2nd truck I got side tracked and had to build a shed so that my neighbors didn't complain). You wouldn't believe how much of a 10'x10' shed you can fill with the bodies of 2 trucks (no cabs though, they will stay in the driveway for now) I picked up a 9" from what I was told was a '72 F100 but I am not too sure that it is true. I am still looking for an original open drive 3 spd and a 59AB motor.
My goal is to have an original looking truck. I would do some mods to the flattie to bump the horses a little (such as the possible 4" in the current motor). As the search goes right now it looks like I will probably build the '49 and do some extras to it like an Offy 2x2 to make it more like a 50s-60s hotrod (try to keep it era at least). I just cannot morally justify spending more for a 59AB block that might be cracked than I would for a running 302.

47 1/2ton shorty original but poor shape. I removed the V-8 20 years ago and sent it to a antique rebuilder. He never did anything with it. I heard he is now in poor health, so I better go get it. Meanwhile I found another flathead V-8 out of a 50 or so 1 1/2 ton I think. It will be close enough for me.
The 47 has been lightly layed on the drivers side. It has door damage and a little to the back of cab and of course running board damage. So I found a 46 1/2 with a few good parts: a door anyway, front half of running board. Someone put newer rear fenders on it and chopped off the boards.
I have the desire, but no hurry obviously. It was gonna be my first vehicle. Darn that 73 Mach 1!

1941 Ford 1/2 ton. 4" drop front axle with reverse eye spring, slightly split wishbone. Keeping the Flathead backing with C-4 Transmission, open drive shaft ford 8" rear end with parallel leafs. 12 Volt of course. Dual offenhauser intake, Offenhauser 400 heads, fenton headers and dual exhaust. ECI front disk brakes, rear drums. 15" Genie style wheels. Here's a few 'build' pics:

I gave a friend of mine a 302 (300+ hp) about 8 years ago when he was in a bind. In turn, he gave me his 1940 Ford this year. The frame was rusted out, so I am marrying the body with a 1978 Scout II. It has a 345 International motor that is as heavy as it is strong! I'm running an auto tranny and 4.88 gears with 36" tires. Check out my gallery. It has been a lot of fun.

My ride is a 1940 one ton Express (pickup bed) going thru a body off restoration. All new or rebuilt mechanicals including an engine rebuild (bored to 239CI,Potvin cam, and balanced 8BA innards) to improve performance, 49 Merc O/D trans to keep the engine from blowing up, and 4.11 gears in the rear to improve gas mileage (a pipedream?) The restored chassis is done and the cab is back on it. The truck will remain stock in appearance with its Acadia Green paint and Creme striping. It is a low mileage truck which spent its first 50 years in Eastern Washington on a wheat ranch and the last 16 years in S.Cal. hauling whatever my wife, children, friends, neighbors and I could put on it. After so many years of good and faithful service I decided it was time to return the old workhorse to its former glory and that's where we are today. There's not many of us saving these BIG trucks so I want to thank whoever put this website on the internet highway for providing a Forum for sharing info.

Still working on my '41 pickup.Wooden bed ( Merandi) now completed, running boards straightened (think of having them plastic coated), staying with the Nissan Diesel engine ( gas becomes increasingly expensive), Run into trouble with the bodywork ( hood , fenders and doors). Next step will be installing the Newport dual wiper kit.
Plans for the future are: Replacing the rear axle, restoring the original bed and rear fenders, retrofitting to a bench instaed of dual seats..... well something to keep me busy the next years.
Btw, the galerie has been updated with the progress, comments ,critics & suggestions are welcome.

I've had my 46 1/2 ton for about 7 years. Had to wait for retirment and build myself a shop so I could get it inside to begin work on it. I've been working on it now for the last 3 years. The frame was no good, found one on ebay and traveled 200 miles to Michigan to pick it up. I have purchased many other body parts from ebay and have them stored waiting for installation. I have replaced almost the entire floor, door posts and cab mounts. The frame is painted and I installed a new rear suspension kit from Chassis Engineering Inc. Getting ready to order their front suspension Kit. Hope to install a 302 with AOD. I'm looking for a 89-90 Grand Marque or Ford Crown for those parts.

Hey there arctic y block
Just returned from holiday in Rarotonga yesterday, first thing I did was not unpack! Had to go and visit my baby. Slowly getting there, engine and firewall painted-engine in. Brakes, rewiring, inner guards need to be cut, front to be put back on. Having a few delemas with gas tank as new one will not go where I want it so just staying with old one for now. Phoning the chromers first thing monday as was promised all done by the 18th! Have until 20th of Jan for Huge annual car show, hubbie PROMISED that would be done by then. So he will be working like mad as his life may depend on it!!!
