Passenger door locked & won't unlock

you can take the rear door panels completely out with the doors closed the front are a little more tricky but you can take the door panel 90% off then you take the exterior door handle off that will disengage the actuator rode which is normally the problem any ways then you can simply open the door with the inside handle because its mechanical unlike the exterior which is activated by an actuator rode once the door is open you can find the problem and fix it

My 04 Escape was stuck in the locked position
I saw the youtube video on how to fix this, and I was able to remove the door panel as in the video. A
little circular black plug hides the screw in the handle trim, removed that, took out the Phillips screw there, and inside the door pull. Pulled the panel off the door from the top down. Pulled it out enough to remove the water seal and paper that is between the panel and door.
worked the locks, and the metal lever that is next to the plug inside the door. Then, I noticed the outside handle was not pulling against anything inside the door. A few blasts of wd40 there, and manually operating the outside handle mechanism from the inside freed that up.
Then, one more cycling of the door locks, and it opened up from the outside. Total job start to finish was 20 minutes.
