I know. I should have. Good thing it's Friday.

What I said has NOTHING to do with Twin T's w/CAT Diesel thread. Which would be cool. Even if it's a >$10K option. ALSO IMHO they (Ford) should offer differnet types of Diesels in their line of lower "F" series. F150 - F350. Cummins, CAT, IH, etc.....

R&D for all of that would be enormous. Too much oing on at once would slow down production which is something the Big 3 are already lacking behind in. Streamline is the way they have to play it.

Hino have provided quite a few engines to UD (Nissans truck department), and UD have made a few of their own too.

If you aren't kidding, do you mind me enquiring if you work for "Nissan", or a dealership?

I think I am going to wait for the Pratt and Whitney turbine with afterburner in my new 350.
She won't pull a lot, but it sure will be fast.

I used to work at the Cat engine plant that is right down the street from me and they cant keep up with the heavy truck demand. Since we are making up rumors and Ford owns Volvo how about a Volvo diesel..

They don't own Volvo trucks though.
The largest Volvo car diesel is a 2.5l... (I think).
Sorry to quash the rumor

I haven't read all of your posts yet, but a thought occured to me: Before the Duramax made it's debut late 2000 early to middle 2001, the silverado was allegedly supposed to have CAT Diesel below the hood. The problem, was that CAT couldn't develop an engine that would fit below the hood. Otherwise Chevy/GMC would own the market right now because of that CAT Diesel. CAT mainly seems to stick to the commercial diesel market and don't really do much (if anything) with the light duty market. I could be wrong about this, but I don't think a CAT diesel will end up below the hood of a Ford SD. It would take alot of time and money to start from scratch and build a whole new engine. So rather than do that, Ford will 10 to 1 stick to International and let the rumored 6.4 be based on something they already have to work with. (i.e. the 6.0)
