Question Did these trucks ever have a factory CAT engine?

I fixed a bike for my wife's friend, and when we returned it to her, her father came out and started talking to me. He noticed the stacks on my truck(85 F-250) and asked if I had the CAT engine in it. He said he used to work for someplace that used this body style of ford truck that came with caterpillar engines. Has anyone heard of this? I was thinking maybe the F-450's and up, but I wouldn't think in just a 1 ton.

Unless you get to the 7000's I do not believe Ford ever put a cat engine in. I know they didn't in anything in the 1-ton or under. Might be he was talking about a conversion place.

that would be pretty sick if they did put a CAT deisel into these trucks. i wonder if one would bolt onto a T-18?
