i dont think that would quite count. thats more than a super duty.

i havent seen it im trying to think of the size differnces between the two. makebe i will have to go look at my buddies 4400 Lopro that has it in it.

im looking to buy a 4400 soon nice having more stopping capacity and larger cab for some more room, the full air ride and air ride seats make the run up the I-5 much better. i think the biggest thing with the dt466 would be the bell housing. would have to custom build the 6 speed to fit or mate up the allison 2000, or a roadrunner 7 speed???? hmmmm

I have seen pics of a 8.3 Cummins in a 96 F250. I wouldn't think a 466 is bigger then the 8.3. Anyone know for sure which one is larger?

yeah 496cubes equals 8.1 liters and 7.5 equals 460 cubes then a dt466 would be about 7.7 or 7.6

Yeah we aren't talking about displacement, we're talking about external physical dimensions.

International Tech, is it a lot larger? Another thing I just thought about, that truck had about a 3" cowl hood on it, I assume for clearence. That would work on the old trucks, but since a good bit of the Super Duty's engine compartment is under the cowl, the only way to gain that clearence would be a body lift.

From the chart above the dt466 is 9 inches longer, there is not 9 inches to spare, I think you would have to cut the firewall and make a removable tunnel for clearance and you would have to do something about the hieght too.
