3.0l ranger T5 retrofit ?!?
"3.0l ranger T5 retrofit ?!?" also posted to "1987 - 1996 Trucks and Vans" I just found this forum, sorry for the duplicate posting........
Hi all, I'm new to this board and a new owner of a stock 93 2WD ranger PU 3.0 V6 5 sp (4+od). trans code M with integral bellhousing.
The transmission suffered the typical low oil problem during previous ownership and I purchased it with whining noise in all gears except 4th. The transmission finally failed with only 4th gear working (strange to me that all gears failed except 4th)? Fortunately I was able to drive with only 4th gear for over 160 miles to return home.
I can not find a replacement OEM transmission at a reasonable cost. But, I already have a T5 transmission (don't know vehicle it came from) with code 13-32-088-91 on the case. Perhaps a AWSF-1984?
Question is: How do I retrofit this T5 to my stock 3.0. Is a bellhousing available that fits the T5 to the 3.0? First question would be identification of input shaft, pilot bushing dia, spline adaptability, etc.
Thanks for any help you can offer or suggestions for links and sources.
