A couple of months ago I asked about changing from a mazda 5-spd to a zf 5-spd and was told everthing from the mazda will work on the zf. Not true but close, the shifters are diffrent. I purcased a remaned unit and none of the shifter parts came on it. I'm trying to get the truck on the road for the 4th and went to ford for the parts because I don't have time now to go junk yard shopping. For the new shift tower, shifter and boot will run you about 250.00 to 300.00 dollars from ford so be prepared on finding these parts. Everything else has lined up. No hard feelings I'm just putting this out so the next person that wants to do this converson will know.

 

This is one of those little details that gets left out or taken for granted that one already knows the answer. The ZF shifters are very hard to find!

 

Good to know, thanks for sharing it with us. This would be a case where having a donor truck on hand for all the small parts is handy.
