Where to order parts?

Does anybody know of a good/reliable/cheap place to order hard to find parts on-line. If the part I order works.....I promise to post something very interesting.

Check the forum sponsor links at the top of the page first. If they don't have what you want, then www.fordpartsnetwork.com is a good source.

I know of three sites associated with major parts stores: www.napaonline.com, www.autozone.com, and www.partsamerica.com They may not have all the "hard-to-find" parts, but it doesn't take too long to check.

Thanks for the help. The only place that had it was fordpartsnetwork.com

I will post the outcome of my long transmission story after I install the part.

Transmission Out at 120,000 Miles

My transmission on my 97 Ford Explorer 4x4 auto transmission went out at 120,000 miles with little warning. I am not original owner but take care not to dog my explorer so thought this was a tad soon.

Nonetheless went with used transmission versus new or rebuild and got a 90 day replacement "warranty" from dealer based upon my "argument" that surely they must get good transmissions from their source. So far so good.
