PREDATOR BACK TO STOCK

The cost "just" to repair my rear main leaks (yes multipal times) and the new starter that failed at 200 miles, and a few small items has been 2800.00 to 3000.00 and climbing.. It still needs to have a Turbo pedastal upgrade (when available) to control the vibrating floor!! And today noticed my hydro booster (brakes)leaking..You think the "weak" engineering at Ford isn't costing them/us all money??
The local Ford dealer is a "repair shop" and entitled to recover their overhead with some profit.. They probably make more money in the service bays, than on the showroom floor.. Not just to sell new vehicles, and do warranty work for the parent company..
Warranty work will always be a part of selling new/used vehicles, but lack of engineering or poor workmanship will inflate the bottom line for us all..
Ford makes an "awsome" truck, but needs to step up to the plate and make/get it right.. "Like"...lets say... replace ALL the C94 injectors that will/may cost us all in the future.. DO you think that Ford thinks that these injectors will go 200,000 or better..NOT..
It seems that alot of members/owners (I'll speak for myself here) are looking at/to mods to get back what they lost, after service, not to defraud Ford... Just to get what they though they were getting, with their purchase..
I love my truck, but want what I paid for..Nothing else...

Hayapower, your points are well taken. If I had the troubles you have had with your truck, I think I would've been pursuing a buy back for sure.
I have a March '03 built truck with the old injectors, thankfully I haven't had an issue with mine. If it's a ticking time bomb, I'll deal with it when the time comes.
I don't know, it's hard to put myself into your shoes I guess. But I think if I wasted my motor as a direct result of adding some performance product that the chip manufacturer said was safe, I'd have a tough time justifying Ford taking the major brunt of the cost. It's just dishonest. Sure, Ford does many underhanded things, I agree. I don't know, it's a tough deal and a tough call.

The rear main has been done twice, and is a "FIX" for now.. It is an 1/03 build, but I haven't had any injector issues "Yet".. Had a few snapped spring radiator clamps and small leak there as well.. And a few other small issues..
Let me say this again.. To HBO1.. And I "HATE" to sound like I'm complaining, because I really enjoy driving this truck.. And it runs awsome..
BUT... Ford has put a bandaid over a bullet wound here, and they know it.. What about the costs of legal actions taken against Ford, or our personal safety?? $$$$$ What about the Explorers with those GREAT tires!!! $$$$$ Think that didn't jack up the price of a Ford vehicle..
What they have done is to pull power/torque away from these engines to get them "beyond" their responsibility.. They "sold us" on the Performance and MPG of this POWER/TORQUE "leader" as shown on TV, than took it away... We are just putting it back to what they offered up!!!
What happens if...Say... you have "no" mods, and your engine blows up, and your forced to leave it on the side of the road... Someone steals it!!!! Does "Ford" replace the truck since it was there as a result of design/build date and thus their problem.. NO.. Your insurance has to pay for it.. OR actually.. all of US in premiums... So the "Honesty" thing doesn't fly with me.. or at least, when I feel Ford has put one over on me..
I wouldn't do anything to cause my truck to gernade, one, because I hate to drive those "box cars" that they loan out!! and if I lost a turbo or worse as the result, I would fix it myself!!
These engines could "very possibly" cost us THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of dollars after the warranty period.. Are you ready.. Got a extended warranty??
I just want the truck to run as promised, and I'm not out to build a HP king..

Your engine warranty is longer than an extended premium warranty. I know. I have one.
Hayapower, are you working with the dealer service department on your mileage/power/noise issue? Have you talked to the service manager and had them talk to the Ford Area rep? Have you called Ford Customer Assistance and expressed your concern for the mileage and performance fix that is due out?
I have been calm, courteous, factual and persistent in my dealings with all the above. We still don't have a fix out, but all the pressure we can collectively apply will help.

I bend wrenches for a living on an "all" Ford Fleet.. They/Ford are "very aware" of what has been an issue/repaired, and needs to be repaired still... But thanks for the insite!!! The Service writer "ducks down" below the counter when he see's me come'n .. I work with these guys every day, which makes it a bit harder, but this is MY truck!!! They said they called Ford Engineering and the Drone/Moan fix is supposed to be out this summer for the 4x4.. I had them print all my warranty repairs to have "just in case"!!! This truck really hasn't been "that bad", and if these problems were happening at 100,000 miles ( 2500 miles) I wouldn't be much/so concerned.. Ford must have sent me a half dozen recall notices for the fuel pressure regulator on my 93 F-150 5.0.. We never had to replace "one" in our fleet!! (altough they are know to go bad) So where is this agressive attention to quality/service in regards to the 6.0?? Ford's stand seems to be, Just wait till they break.. I know $$$
My mileage isn't bad (around 14-up) no real complaints, but is hard to calculate because I commute in mine.. Wrecks, and bumper to bumper traffic every so often, sometimes every day.. Haven't done any long range trips yet.. I just want to better MPG.. 50 MPG would be nice!!! A guy can dream!!
I would just be more impressed with Ford if they would acknowledge their short comings with this engine and then fix'em..
Hate to see the bad press, and loss of costumers..

Ford has acknowledged the mileage/performance problem caused by the Oct flash. I have heard from the Service Manager at the dealership I use, the Ford Area Rep and Customer Assistance that they are aware of the problem and working on it. I was given an extended premium warranty as a gesture when I complained that the extra cost of fuel I would incur was unacceptable.
If I test drove my truck today, I would probably buy it. But what I have today is not what I bought. I just want what I bought. it is still a good truck.
